There are a myriad of sites now offering free or cheap listing services for all styles of acts, bands and musicians. The services differ but most give you the opportunity to advertise online by adding your website link, uploading or sending your biog, picture and/or demo track. Some offer free and low cost website hosting.

Larger and more established social networking and artist sharing sites like Bebo, Peoplesound,, MySpace, YouTube or our very own provide new and unsigned acts/bands the opportunity to sell their music online, have their tracks voted on by the users and keep their profits! Of course there are pros and cons to uploading your music to these sites. Some charge you for the privilage and many have terms and conditions that essentially mean they retain the rights to anything you upload so do make sure you read that and all TOS before using any of the services listed below.

Every month THE INDIE CONTACT NEWSLETTER lists 43 new places to promote your music. There are also 2 quality articles written by respected members of the Independent music community. Sell your CD, get international distribution, read tips on promotion and marketing your music. They even create a webpage dedicated to showcasing your CD and deal with all the credit card orders, shipping etc., There is a one time set up fee of $35.00 for building your webpage and including information into their search engine database, you set the selling price for your CD and they keep $4.00 per CD sold. There are no contracts to sign and you retain all rights to your works.

CD Review
Promote and sell unsigned artists/bands CD’s. They charge $40.00 per album/record to set up your webpage plus $10 to host your photograph on their server. You set the price of your CD/Cassette and keep 100% of the sales, however, they keep the money from the sale of the first 4 CD’s or Cassettes as part of the deal.

Sell your Indie CD with this online store that charges $20 set up fee and takes 20% of each sale. Website hosting with realmedia capabilities and unlimited storage is also available for $19.99 per month.

Sign up free as an artist to upload your music mp3s, biog, videos, photos to the site. Has some neat features, sell your music downloas and keep all the profits, sell your mp3s as ringtones! Their player can also be used on My Space and other sites using their copy and paste code.

Display your images and upload videos and music. Free and paid options available. Services include online gig booking search engine, cd sales and credit card processing if required.
